Over the past few years, our sales team in the North East has been busy raising essential funds for one of the area’s most important and long-established charities.
Based in Newcastle upon Tyne, Children North East has been supporting babies, children and families for over 130 years. In addition to their full range of support services – which includes mental health support, youth work, and domestic abuse services – they are passionate campaigners for children’s rights, and are deeply rooted in their belief that all babies, children and young people, should have the opportunity to grow up safe and healthy, with the chance to achieve their full potential.
In December last year, members of our team, alongside construction colleagues from Morgan Sindall, braved the elements by taking part in the Gleeds North Sea Dip to support the charity’s vital work. At the moment of contact, there may well have been pangs of regret! But the chilly challenge was completely worth it, when the total raised reached an impressive £2,500. We hope this will motivate everyone to take part again this year!
Earlier this year, we were thrilled when our work with Children North East was recognised with a ‘Champion Supporter’ Award, announced by the charity’s patron, actor Sir Tim Healy. We take great pride in working alongside such an inspirational organisation, and one which constantly strives so hard to help so many people overcome life’s difficulties.
