In 2024, Willowbrook Hospice in Prescot, Merseyside, became Alumasc Roofing’s nominated charity.
To date, Willowbrook has provided specialist palliative care for over 10,000 patients, in an environment full of warmth and compassion. It’s a special place that means a lot to the people and families in need of their care, the team of brilliant staff who work there, and also to the wider local community. The hospice costs around £6 million every year to run, and whilst the NHS makes a significant donation toward that, the hospice relies heavily on fundraising to make up the balance.

To raise money for these essential services, Willowbrook coordinates a Christmas Tree Collection every year; and we are proud to have offered our time and resources to this valuable scheme for two years running, in 2025 and 2026. Working alongside other local businesses, we donate our manpower and vehicles for the collection of retired Christmas trees at the end of the festive period. Customers booking a collection are asked to make a donation for the recycling service, which we are happy to report has raised over £13,000 this year.
At our office in St Helens, we hold regular raffles for Willowbrook, and in 2024 our Christmas Jumper Day also helped bump up the coffers. To add a touch of glamour, we enjoy being involved with the annual Willowbrook Strictly Glitter Ball event, where we show our support by sponsoring tables. The event is great fun and has raised tens of thousands of pounds every year so far.

These funds make untold differences to patients with life-limiting and terminal illnesses; and the wider reaching benefits are felt by members of our team, who find huge satisfaction in giving their time to such a worthy local cause.
We are already looking forward to being involved with the Christmas Tree Collection Scheme again after next Christmas.
